Hi and welcome to the latest edition of "Massage Moves", massage newsletter for the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney

In order for us to improve as an organisation and as individual massage therapists then receiving feedback is imperative. This month we are asking clients to provide this feedback (in return for a charitable donation from us) so if you can help then please do so.

If you are thinking of pampering your loved one on Valentine's Day then we urge you to book early as it's always a busy day/evening for us.

Just a reminder that the next prize draw for the free home massage will take place on February 15th.

    Best Wishes
Richard and the Eastern Suburbs Mobile Massage team.

    Feedback February

Being a massage therapist can be considered akin to being a blind painter or deaf pianist. We can only imagine how the work of our hands is being received. We can only improve the quality of our service and massage by receiving feedback both in the form of positive reinforcement and constructive criticism.

In the past we have sent out feedback forms to clients, soliciting the information we require with typically only about 15% of forms returned (which I more than understand as I hate filling out forms). In order to increase the amount of feedback we receive, in February we will donate $5 to charity for each form we receive from a client who has not previously submitted feedback to us.

    Cherries and Exercise Recovery

Numerous antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds have been discovered in tart cherries (in particular anthocyanins, the same chemicals that give tart cherries their color). Eating them has been demonstrated to reduce blood concentration levels of inflammatory markers in men and women. Recently researchers in the US have discovered that consuming cherries may aid recovery after eccentric exercise.

    Massage Benefits Osteoarthritis Sufferers

The many sufferers of osteoarthritis are looking for safe and natural alternatives to conventional treatments in reducing their pain and improving the quality of their life. Glucosamine and chondroitin have been researched along with other possible natural supplements. However recent research has indicated that massage therapy is a safe and effective method for reducing pain and improving function in adults with osteoarthritis (in particular of the knee).
