Hi and welcome to the latest edition of "Massage Moves", massage newsletter for the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney (wow, March already!). Congratulations to the latest winner of the prize draw one hour home massage, Helen of Bondi Junction.

Thank you to those who have completed feedback forms for us - by offering a charitable donation the response rate has been greater than normal so as to get some meaningful data we have decided to extend "Feedback February" into March and continue to donate $5 for each completed feedback form we receive. Should you wish to complete the brief survey then just go to Feedback Form and we will donate $5 to Bear Cottage or a charity of your choice.

    Best Wishes
Richard and the Eastern Suburbs Mobile Massage team.

    Choosing a Personal Trainer

Choosing any health care practitioner, be it GP, dentist or massage therapist can potentially be a risky proposition. There is little doubt that word of mouth recommendations are generally always the best although what works for one person does not necessarily work for another. This is particularly true for massage therapists and also personal trainers.

Choice magazine has written an excellent article on what to look for when choosing a personal trainer (particularly what questions you should ask). It's message can be applied to many other health/lifestyle modalities.

    Gym - Special Offers

I came across a website the other day which has information on gyms/personal trainers that are offering free trial membership/passes. Now I don't know whether you will get bombarded with information if you accept one of these offers but if you are looking for a gym for exercise then it might be useful method for assessing gyms in your area.

Turn your home into a massage clinic!

A significant proportion of the money you pay for a massage at a clinic or day spa goes towards the fixed overheads, in particular the rent. Whilst mobile massage therapist does not have the same financial constraints, a component of the fee the therapist receives covers the cost/time for travel.

However the price advantages really kick for mobile massage when the bookings are for longer than 60 minutes. Now the fixed overheads for the mobile massage are virtually zero compared with the clinic where there is still rent to be paid. This is reflected in our price structure as the average prcies per massage decreases as the time increases.

So if you are looking to receive quality affordable massages then get a few friends together and turn your home into a clinic for an morning/afternoon or evening and save money in addition to the other benefits that having a home massage can bring.
